Margaret L. Young, 83, of Peoria, passed away at 9:19 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria.
Margaret was born in Moberly, MO on November 19, 1926, a daughter of John H. and Yula A. (Robuck) Handley. She married Julian S. Young on January 4, 1947 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Herbert H. Handley.
She is survived by her son, Kim A. (Debra L.) Young of Peoria; nieces, Joy A. (Donald L.) Cramer of Peoria, Pamela S. (Larry D.) Schultz of Morton and Valerie H. (Scott E.) Rohrbach of Germantown Hills; granddaughter, Wakeisha A. Young (Donald A. Delbridge) of Peoria; grandson, Marshall W. Young of Galesburg; two great grandchildren; six great nieces and nephews; and five great-great nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a retired Executive Legal Secretary from The Leiter Group in Peoria. She was a former volunteer for B’Nai B’Rith Apartments and enjoyed crafts, cross-stitch, ceramics, knitting and reading.
She attended the First Assembly of God Church on Brandywine in Peoria, where services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, with the Rev. Dean Grabill officiating. A private interment will be held in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to Passages Hospice in Peoria.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue, in Peoria.
